KCASA 125th Anniversary Club Development Grant - Apply by 31 August

Kent County ASA was founded in 1891 and this year, 2016, sees us celebrating 125 years of promoting and managing swimming and swimming related activities in Kent. 

To celebrate this milestone The KCASA Management has decided to allocate £10,000 to help develop aquatics within the club environment across the county. This sum will be split across contributing members as at 1 September 2015 (the start of KCASA financial year) as per the table below:

Kent County ASA Club Development Grant Scheme 2016: Conditions

1.The grant is available to all member clubs as per the above table and must be spent by 31 August 2016 (the end of KCASA financial year) on club development activities (not general club running expenses).

2.Clubs may apply as many times as they like in the year up to the maximum.

3.Clubs may use the grants for whatever development activities they wish but the County requires a statement from the Club Chairman by 30 November 2016 stating the activities or items the grant has been spent on and a statement of benefits realised.

4.Acceptance of the grant is confirmation that the Club will support KCASA activities with the provision of officials and helpers at County events/activities.

5.These are the kind of activities that KCASA consider acceptable to use the grant money for:

  • In-house skill development workshops for the benefit of both swimmers and coaches
  • 50m long course training for clubs that do not have regular weekly access to a long course pool
  • Projects aimed at promoting or developing Networks of clubs
  • Introducing new swimmers to competitive swimming via links with schools and pool operators learn to swim sessions
  • Funding Level 1 and Level 2 teaching/coaching courses within the clubs
  • Purchase of development resources such as books, videos, etc for new teachers and coaches, music equipment, water polo nets, balls, hats etc
  • Training equipment targeted at ‘whole club’ use such as a set of group hand paddles, poolside pace clock etc.
  • Swim development clinic expenses

6. Examples of unacceptable use include:

  • Regular club session pool hire costs
  • Regular coach/teacher salaries or expenses
  • Christmas parties/presentation evening funding or other club social activities
  • Purchase of trophies/swim badges etc

7. To apply for a grant the Club must complete the on-line application form
