Championship Relays 2025
Important information - also incorporated into the previous detailed update (update 13 September 2025)
Spectator tickets are no longer available and there will be no entry to the spectator areas without one.
Parking is free but please note the following:
Ensure you park only within marked bays. Do not park on grass verges, paved areas or double yellow lines as you are highly likely to receive a penalty notice.
The signage indicates max four-hour stay – permits to park longer must be displayed. The permits have been distributed to all Clubs' gala secretaries so please make enquiries of them, but there will additional permits available at the Pool. Please ask the meet personnel not the Leisure Centre
Swimmer seating
We need to split clubs between poolside and the sports hall to comply with the leisure centre’s restrictions on maximum numbers poolside. Clubs located in the sports hall are listed below. If your club is on the list below, please ask swimmers to bring a chair if they have one and some additional layers as it can be slightly cooler than poolside.
- Dover
- Herne Bay
- Maidstone
- RTW Monson
- Saxon Crown
- Sevenoaks
- Thanet
All other clubs will be poolside as per the plan distributed.
Swimmers will be marshalled for events initially in Studio 3 (adjacent to squash courts, under the stairs that lead up to the spectator gallery) and then will make their way poolside. They will need footwear and t-shirts in marshalling and it is also requested that swimmers dry off as best as they can before leaving poolside to return to the sports hall or marshalling area.
We will need the co-corporation of clubs to listen for announcements and ensure swimmers report to the vicinity of Studio 3 in good time for their races whilst trying to avoid overcrowding within the studio itself.
Volunteers
Many thanks to those who have already volunteered and in anticipation.
Volunteers should report to Studio 3 at 0845 for the morning session and 1245 for the afternoon session

Presentations and medals (provisional details)
Because of the packed gallery the medals table will be on poolside. There will no formal presentations.
Spectator tickets
Spectator tickets for sessions are available for purchase at £3 a session here. The number is limited to 230 per session – once that number is reached no further tickets will be sold and anyone without a ticket will not be admitted to the gallery. There are no cash sales on the door.
Those parents who are spectating from the gallery are reminded that room is limited so they should not take up more than one seat for each ticket. They are also reminded that they should not place bags on the seats.
Cafes at the pool
We understand that the café will be open in the Centre.

Warm-up schedule
The timings are generally based on Clubs proximity to the Pool so the further away the later the warm up. The number of lanes allocated is based on the number of teams entered by each Club in the relevant session. Some lanes will be shared so please liaise with the other club’s coaches on the day

Volunteer Support
Most of the roles have been filled but we do need the following
- 1 male volunteer for the morning session who has an enhanced DBS and one female volunteer for the afternoon with an enhanced DBS – this is to periodically patrol the changing rooms. Timing of patrols can be scheduled so you do not miss your child’s races.
- 1 person morning and afternoon to help on the medals/trophies table
- 1 person afternoon as a runner
- 1 person during the lunch period for catering support
Please let me know if you can help us as soon as possible either directly or via your Club.
Many thanks to those who have already volunteered and in anticipation.

Kent Team Championships (update 14 April 2025)
These will be held at the Dover Leisure Centre on Sunday 14 September 2025. Links to the conditions, programme and entry summary are below:
- Conditions
- Programme
- Entry File (for queries, contact Lynn Gates)
- Entry Summary (to accompany the entry file when submitted)
The exact details are in the Conditions and Programme but please note the following:
- There will be two sessions: Female in the morning Open/Male in the afternoon.
- Closing Date for entries is 31 August 2025.
- Age Groups: 12/u, 14/u, 16/u and Open.
- Each event will limited to 24 teams (3 heats) based on submitted times. Please be realistic when calculating entry times – we may ask for proof of times if we consider any to be unusual.
- Clubs may enter more than one team.
- 'A' teams for all Clubs will be considered first then 'B' teams and so on.
- There will be 'A' Finals and if time permits 'B' Medley Finals and if still time 'B' Freestyle Finals
- The fastest 8 times recorded in the heats will be allocated a place in the 'A' final irrespective of whether the times are recorded by an 'A', 'B' or other lettered team. The next 8 fastest will be allocated a place in the 'B' Final if run. It is not logistically possible to do anything else given the limited times available to process the finalists.
- Coach passes from the Kents or other Kent promoted events can be used. If you need new ones please apply to John King (contact details are in the Conditions). Lunch will be available to those coaches who purchase it in advance – again please see the Conditions.
- There will be limited spectator space – approximately 250 seats - and further details about ticket purchase will be published nearer the event. The Centre has plenty of public space available for use by those who cannot get into the gallery.
- As usual we have a small number of committed volunteers operating the timing system etc but we do need help on all sorts of roles such as door entry, marshalling, medals, refreshments for officials, etc.
If you have any other queries please contact John Handley
