The South East Region launches its Young Volunteer Programme - Closing Date 20 October 2014
20th October 2014
The South East Region Young Volunteer Programme is aimed at young people aged 15-25 years of age, who are looking to access training opportunities and volunteer in aquatics.
The Region is looking to increase the number of trained young people and to improve accessibility to formal and informal training opportunities. If you are interested, please sign up to attend one of the Young Volunteers Development Days:
- Sunday 9 November 2014 at Hart Leisure Centre, Hants (12.30-19.30)
- Saturday 22 November 2014 at Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre, Kent (12.30-19.30)
Development Day outline:
- introduction to the Young Volunteer Programme
- Young Aquatic Helpers Certificate
- ASA Timekeepers Course
- volunteering opportunities
Following the development day, you will be expected to undertake volunteering within your home club environment before attending a second development day in March 2015, where you will complete Safeguarding & Protecting Children and Team Manager Training, in addition to liaising with the South East Youth Forum.
This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and have fun, enjoy yourself and to give you the confidence to stay involved in aquatics, with your club providing a mentor as point of contact and to give guidance to its young volunteers.
