Update: Swimming Championships LAC Events including 12 year old pathway parents talk
8th January 2025
EVENTS at the LAC: Acceptances will be published after the closing date next month
Spectator tickets for the LAC sessions are available for purchase at £6.50 a session here and the number is limited to 1,200. Once that number is reached no further tickets will be sold and anyone without a ticket will not be admitted. There are no cash sales on the door.
The ‘No Food’ policy bringing in food from outside remains in force except for the swimmers who may bring in their own food. Coaches and Swimmers are exempt from this restriction.
Please also note that West Ham are not due to be at home either weekend.
The swim shop SwimPath will be at the LAC - they are taking orders now for Kent 2025 merchandise - the link to SwimPath to order and purchase merchandise is here.
12 YEAR OLD PATHWAY PARENTS TALK: As in previous years the County on behalf of Swim England Talent will be running Camps for the swimmers in the 12 year old age group ie: born in 2013. Forty-two swimmers will be selected (21 Open/male 21 female) for the two Camps, one to be held in October 2025 and the other July 2026. The selection will be made after the Summer Regionals.
We will be holding a talk on the programme by our lead coach Gary Inch of Greenwich Royals supported by our lead team manager Marie Atkinson-Brian in the lunch break at LAC on Sunday 26 January. This will be therefore be at 1230 or if later within 10 minutes of completion of the morning session, and will be in the Creche at the LAC which is near the ground floor main reception.
This is open to all parents of 2013-born swimmers but we would ask that one parent per swimmer attends as space is limited. If your swimmer is born in any other year please do not attend. For those swimmers born in 2014 and later there will, subject to Swim England directions on the Pathway, be the opportunity to attend a similar talk next year.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT: A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to enable the championships to run smoothly - the county is always on the look out for new people to help with the technical support needed and whilst we have a dedicated technical support team who can pass on their skills and knowledge it is a small team and we need to increase the numbers - if you are technically minded then this may well be the volunteer role you are looking for in swimming.
